For every fashionista currently plagued with cabin fever while society is on lock down, don’t dim your sparkle for quarantine. Life is short. Wear the heels (or your favorite pair of jeans with a nice blouse). Just because you’re working from home and no one else is around to appreciate your efforts doesn’t mean you can’t put your best foot forward. Comparing notes on the latest wardrobe experiments has become a regular practice on phone calls with my mom.

Nothing makes you realize your inner social butterfly more than being all dressed up with absolutely nowhere to be. Like most engineers, I considered myself a standard introvert for the majority of my time in school, identifying best with the geeks and the nerds. However, Indiana life has helped me realize that I am in fact an introverted extrovert. I like to get dolled up and go out to meet friends and coworkers even if I’m still learning how to initiate these situations.
However, during the current social distancing I do my best everyday to wake up, make the bed and put on something nice before parking in front of my computer to begin my work for the day. Putting myself together in the morning helps the rest of the day go so much more smoothly by establishing a productive frame of mind.
